I have been living in NYC for the last 22 months. After a certain period of time, I got used to living in here. I grown up in a big city in Turkey but living in NYC is a truly amazing experience. Whether you are a student, a businessman, a housewife, it is a place where you can find a lot of opportunities such as  the easiness of public transportation, free and inexpensive activities and job alternatives.

To begin with, the city has a well- developed public transportation system. The subway runs 24/7 a day so people can easily get to their workplaces, schools, and shopping centers. NYC' s well-known yellow taxis are everywhere. In addition, commuting between other states is not difficult. Many people choose to live nearby and there are a number of areas that are supported by transportation systems that allow for easy commuting to work in New York City. For example, I live in West NewYork in NJ. I can take either ferry or bus. If it weren't for availability, I wouldn't be working in the city.  Other than these alternatives, if you have time, you can walk from one side of Manhattan to the other easily. Although the streets look crowded and the traffic is busy, cycling is also possible.

Secondly,  there are so many things to do and they are either free or inexpensive acitivities. You could go to museums such as Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Museum of Modern Art, and the Museum of Natural History. You could try different cuisines such as Mexican, Japanese, Lebonan. If you are a foodie, you have a chance to meet famous chefs. Since there are many parks here, you could do outdoors sports for example walking, biking. The Lincoln Center is a major performing arts center which presents different types of them. If you're planning an evening's entertainment, you could choose opera, dance, symphonies, jazz, theater, film. In addition, every year the film festivals are organized. In the end, you have a big chance to gain more cultural experience in NYC.

Thirdly, the job market offers you a variety of career opportunity. People come to NYC all around the world to find the highest paid jobs. You can gain experience and have your own business here. Many big companies' headquarters are here. Although the competition is tough, if you push yourself to become successfull,  you may be on the richest people list on the world. The more you gain experience, the more you increase your chance here. Education, international understanding and confidence are the skills that can be gained from this experience. Besides, every people from different countries bring their own business etiquettes to the market.

Overall, Living NYC has its advantages. Accessing public transportation readily, working in a mix culture and having more social activity oppportunies is such a wonderful chance. It is not possible to be bored in NYC unless you miss your country.

Advantages of living in New York City ...

The first thing I love about New York City is the convenience of public transportation : Train and Bus . I remembered I took the wrong train and lost in Brooklyn when I first arrived in New York. Fortunately enough, I received help from one of the commuters and made my way straight to the destination. Today ,I can confidently travel without a map and can even assist someone for the direction . The MTA trains are very beneficial for the daily commuters, unlike in a small town named Carbondale , IL where I came from . I used to wait for the public bus for more than one hour to go to grocery store in Carbondale , IL . And now , I realized I can save more time and go anywhere around the city by train with a swipe of $ 2.50 metro card , which I think is very reasonable and convenient for every person . The statistic stated that there are more than 5.3 millions people commute by train weekly in New York City alone ; It is mind blowing to imagine and I love riding trains ; especially ( F ) my favorite one .

I do not doubt that there is not even a single person who did not like to eat ; you named it : American , Italian , Maxican , Thai , Japanese , Chinese , Korean , Indian , Mediteranan … ect ..  I once had a chatted with my friend from Thailand and she said she would never go out to a foreign country more than three months just because of the foods. And I guaranteed her that if she come and pay a visit to New York City , she will fallen in love with all the delicious foods from around the world which is available in one spot called New York City --- that never sleeps for 24/ 7 .

There is one specialty about Big Apple when I stood and looked up in awe to read languages that was simply displayed on the crystal monument by Lincon Center. I accidently found my Language “ Burmese “ and I was amazed by the beauty of each individual languages represent to the people who reside in New York City and in the United Sates from around the world with different backgrounds and cultures simply took my breath away. I believed unity is the strength and diversity is even more  beautiful than any other states under the Liberty Statue of New York City .

I have to admit that I am a shopaholic , especially the City I live is rank as one of the Fashion Cities in the World . I would go out and spend all day sitting and watching the people who passed me by with a different taste in Fashions on the road side. It is valuable to learn that being able to freely express their own personality, social status and passion for fashion is within every individuals who walk confidently on the crowded road side of New York City. Shops are everywhere in the city and on 5th avenue and especially the largest department store on earth called MACY is in New York City too . Being a girl , I could shop till I drop without tiring . In fact I do not need to purchase an air ticket to go to Paris or Europe to get my favorite brand , but instead I could get everything I want just in New York City alone . So , what else can I ask for more ?

I once heard people said “ Move to New York ,if you want to become a millionaire “ .  Many people believed that life starts in New York City. Every opportunity are at hands and dream still comes true if a person would never gives up .Jobs opportunity are available and open to more people than any other states which lead every single person to a pathway of success and a green pasture to create their own future and dream.

Memo #2

TO: Ed Ditter
DATE: 2 MAY
FROM: Ike Cantwright
SUBJECT: Marketing Meeting

Hi Ed,

Hope this email finds you well.

As you may remember from our meeting in last November, when we planned to meet again on May 18 this year, as I thought I would be back from the National Sales Conference in Bahamas, instead of Topeka, by that time. However, I am sorry to say that I have to reschedule our meeting.
I will need to stop by and meet up with our team in St. Louis for the Satellite Project on my way back, and I don’t know if I would be back in town until 20th.

I tried to schedule the meeting on phone with your assistance, who, however, wasn’t sure with your schedule either. So please let me know if meeting on the 20th fits your time or you would rather propose otherwise.

Please feel free to pick any restaurant that you like.

I am looking forward to our reunion.

Best,
Ike

Memo #3

FROM: Patricia Brasher
TO: Art Proofing Group
SUBJECT: Proofing

I want to thank everyone on the team for your hard work during my leave. I appreciate your flexibility with your time.

I have identified the following areas where we could improve our efficiency,
·         All artwork proofing  should be following this order: color keys/color separation, thermals, POS, and at last rule copy.
·         We should prioritize proofing artworks that have been here the longest
·         To ensure a better accuracy and avoid unnecessary delay, please do not try to group and proof artworks by brands.

Thank you for your cooperation!

Subject: Women Deliver Chinese

Hi Beisi,

Thanks so much for helping out with this – it’s excellent!

When you get a chance, can you just quickly explain the difference between Traditional and Simplified Chinese (and who uses what)? Sorry! This is new territory for me.

Thanks again! Really appreciate your support on this.

Best,
Jessica

Subject: re: Women Deliver Chinese

Hi Jessica,

Sorry for getting back to you late on your question about Simplified and Traditional Chinese.

Chinese government started to promote simplified Chinese characters in Mainland China in the 1950s to increase literacy. However, Chinese-speaking regions that were not under the jurisdiction of Chinese government at that time, for example, Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan, didn’t go through this process, so they are still using traditional Chinese. So you would use the Traditional version to do outreach media in these regions.

In terms of other Chinese-speaking Asian countries, e.g. Singapore and Malaysia, they have also been promoting Simplified Chinese. Singapore is using Simplified Chinese now, while Malaysia is using both.

But the reason that I revised the Chinese promotion note you sent over in the first place, was because the translation was too bad. I guess it might be translated by Google.

Please let me know if there is any other questions.

Thanks!
Beisi
I received a mail from Chris about chair for Therapy Room

Hi Hiromi,

Have you been able to find a chair yet?

Best,

Here is my reply:

Re: chair for Therapy Room

Hello Chris,

Sorry I should have told you earlier. I picked two chairs and showed Ms Y before she left for Japan. She liked one of the chairs, so I asked her if she could see it, but I didn't think she had a time before she left. She said if it took 8-10 weeks to got a chair, which usually did when you ordered a chair, it was too much. However the chair that she likes is ready made, so that you can receive 1-2 weeks after you order and price is not bad.
Now I am selecting a color of wall and drawing interior images.

Here is the link of the chair:

Thank you,

Hiromi

Homework:  Please revise this memo.

MEMORANDUM
TO: Ed Ditter
SUBJECT: Marketing Meeting
DATE:  2nd May
FROM: Ike Cantwright

Way back last November when we first got around to planning
this meeting, I thought I would be back from the National Sales
Conference-it's going to be in the Bahamas this year, rather
than  Topeka-and I'm looking forward to getting a good tan,
too. Well, anyway,  I figured  I could easily be back in town by the
18th, but now I've got to stop off  in St. Louis on the way back, to
talk to some of our people about the Satellite Project. So  I'm not
sure now whether I  will be back by the 18th, or even the 19th'
I'm just not sure how bad the situation is there. So what about
the 20th? I've tried reaching you on the phone, but your assistant
couldnt speak to your schedule, so  I figured I'd better send you
this. Let me know what's best for you. Of course, when  I get  in
I'll be brushing sand off me.
Know any good restaurants there?
